Welcome from the Chairman

Our Council exists to bridge the gap between the vulnerable Floridians we serve each day and the state resources available to help them flourish. We are also honored to serve the Governor and State Legislators by providing thoughtful insight and guidance on the needs we see across our communities. We hope you find this website helpful and informative, and it is our sincere prayer that it serves as a blessing to you.

Our Mission

The Florida Faith-Based and Community-Based Council serves as a formal advisory council to the Executive Office of the Governor and to the Legislature. The goals of the Council are to enlist, enable, empower, and expand the work of volunteer faith-based and community-based organizations. There are many volunteer opportunities throughout state government. The Council is tasked with providing annual recommendations to the Governor and Legislature that will encourage the government and the faith-based community to work together to improve social services for Floridians.

Four areas of emphasis for the Council

The strategic plan focuses Council energy across four distinct stakeholder groups — each with its own audience, its own deliverables, and its own measure of success.

Legislature

The Council is a trusted, nonpartisan resource for legislators, acting as a direct catalyst between Florida’s people and law makers.

Executive Office

With connections in the Executive office of Florida’s Governor, The Council seeks to be the boots on the ground to carrying out the Governor’s priorities and be a bridge for the people to the Governor’s office.

Local Faith & Community Leaders

The Council is comprised of real faith and community leaders across the state, ready to equip and assist other faith and community leaders in the work they do.

The council invests in its members, making sure their service to their networks is meaningful, effective and impactful, through collaboration, access, resources and experience.
